Funerals & Memorial Services
A funeral marks the end of a person’s life here on earth. It is a time for family and friends to come together - to express grief, to give thanks for a life lived, and to commend their loved one into God’s keeping.
A funeral service can be small and intimate or a larger gathering of family and friends. Whatever the setting, the message at a Church of England funeral is always one of hope in life after death. While there is sorrow in losing someone we love, we also hold to the Christian hope of life beyond death, made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Funerals in Brno
Our priest can conduct funerals in church, at a crematorium, or at a graveside. You do not have to be a regular churchgoer to have an Anglican funeral - our ministry is open to all who seek a Christian service.
We will work with you to create a personal and meaningful service, with readings, hymns, and prayers that reflect your loved one’s life and faith.
In some cases, it may be more appropriate to arrange a memorial service at a later date, allowing family and friends more time to gather in remembrance.
Pastoral Support & Practicalities
Where possible, we will offer pastoral support and guidance as you make arrangements. We understand that every situation is different, and we are here to walk alongside you through this time of loss.
Rather than a set fee, a donation is requested for funeral services. These arrangements may be made directly with the church or through a funeral director.
If you have experienced a bereavement and would like to discuss a funeral or memorial service, please contact us as soon as possible.
